Stockland CARE Grant – Turning Green Project

Access Recreation were fortunate to receive a funding grant to implement a program – ‘Turning Green’ to raise awareness of household practices that impact the environment and how to incorporate environmentally friendly activities into everyday life.

Implemented throughout our group programs, the Turning Green project helped us raise awareness and educate people with a disability about issues impacting the environment and actions we can take to improve and sustain it. It has allowed us to purchase resources to practically implement new environmentally friendly practices, such as composting some of our waste, reducing our waste headed for landfill, improving our recycling processes and building skills and knowledge of our participants and staff, which will also have impacts on their waste disposal behaviours at home. Our participants have also gained practical life skills by putting equipment together.
